According to Brabants Dagblad, Efteling are wanting to do away with the road between the Efteling Hotel and Vogel Rok/Efteling Hotel guest entrance (Horst). It’s only a narrow road, but the question is, why do Efteling want to bridge the gap between their two properties? If they do, Efteling will all be on one piece of land without any gaps; but is that road so much of a gap?
We cant be sure what Efteling would do with that extra piece of land (maybe a nicer entrance to the park for hotel guests?!) but according to Brabants Dagblad, ‘Efteling will explain the future plans for expansion eastward on March 26 at the city council.’
Efteling also have their eye on the Rabobank building across the street from the Efteling Hotel. This is a space which would most likely be used for offices, instead of or possibly as well as the office/workshop behind Carnaval Festival.
According to looopings the park is planning on building a big rollercoaster in the new section of land starting either 2018 or 2019. Brabandsdagblad and looopings have confirmed the new piece of land also comes with a new hight restriction. The park is not allowed to build higher than 30 metres in the existing part of the park. Though the new part will have a hight restriction of 50m. Allowing Efteling to build taller rides in the future.
They say also another hotel accomodation may be built in the new area.
The new section of land is claimed to be in use for 2020 and will be were most expansions will take place up to 2030. Although rumours also have it that the parking lot will be partially moved and the left side of the existing lot will be intergrated in the park as expansion for the Fairytale forest.
