Apparently there are showers due at Efteling later today, but here at Efteling UK, it is a sunny day! We love the blue sky in this photos from last year. It is only 20 days until Efteling UK goes back to Efteling, so expect more photos then! In the meantime, keep checking back for updates and join us on our Facebook page for more beautiful Efteling photos!
If you come here often, you will know of our love for Laafs. However, aside from the Laaf village in Efteling, Laafs are very scarce. Rumour has it that Efteling are planning to revive a branch of the Laaf family called the ‘Lummels’, which appear to be young Laafs. We do get a lot of questions sent to us asking about Laafs and where they can be bought, all to the unfortunate answer that: they can’t. Not anymore. Seems a shame since they still seem so popular, however, Efteling seem to also be aware of their popularity, hence the new life being breathed into the brand. Already it has emerged that the Lummels will have their own TV show, and very possibly an attraction located next to Anton Pieck Square! The TV show pilot was rejected by Efteling, and we believe that the image below must be from that pilot. So maybe the show will not have the same style, but hopefully it will still be put into production! It has also been reported by Eftelist, that merchandise is/has been designed for the Lummels, which we can’t wait to see!
Thanks to Eftelist and Milena.
If you have us ‘liked’ on Facebook, you will know that a package arrived yesterday, a large one. Inside was the miniature Swan House that can also be found in Efteling. It moves and plays music when plugged in, and it is very nice! I took a short video of it doing its thing:
Also check out the other miniature buildings that are available on the Efteling Web Shop.
The Dream Flight queue is long, and although you may not have to wait too long to board the ride nowadays, things were different in the few years after it opened. To save you from murdering one of your fellow theme park goers during the long wait, Efteling used to provide some ‘in-queue’ entertainment, in the form of a singer. Our own video of her unfortunately cut off after a short time, but we found a full one on YouTube:
She was pretty good, and definitely took your mind off the hellishly long line you were waiting in. The song she is singing is called ‘Dromen met je ogen open’, that is ‘Dreaming with your eyes wide open’ to the English speakers. It was available along with other songs on a CD that was sold at Efteling for a period of time.
The stage is gone now, probably never to return, but it probably saved a few folks’ sanity!
It is true, 82 people ‘like’ us on Facebook, we’re very happy! Maybe we can make it all the way up to 100 in the near future? Remember to share Efteling UK with your friends who maybe haven’t heard of Efteling, or maybe you have a friend who loves fairy tales? Efteling is for them!
We will be updating more and more as time goes on, especially with an Efteling trip coming up for us next month! You can subscribe by using the box down the left of this page, or like us on Facebook to see when a new update is posted.
You can also find us on Twitter, just search ‘Efteling UK‘, our tag, however, is @Vegitabeta.
It is also our first birthday on Tuesday, feel free to send cake!
It is now open! Yesterday, the Eigenheymer cart opened to guests, selling (what I believe to be) curly potatoes on sticks. It appears that you can choose various toppings for the potato such as cheese or barbecue. At a cost of 2.75, many people seem to think that these are a little expensive, but we shall reserve judgement until we can try one ourselves!
Eindelijk, it is here! We hoped it would come to exist and it has, the music from Aquanura! There is no track listing on the Efteling Webshop, but if you have seen Aquanura online or otherwise, you will know what to expect. The best part? It is only 6.99€!
As you know if you have looked at our Gallery page, we have a lot of Efteling photos, some from years and years ago! So some of them look a little dated. We decided to give some of them a ‘reboot’ and stick them on our Facebook page. Here are a couple of the best ones:
