Second-hand Efteling Finds

Over the years we’ve found a couple of Efteling things in charity shops in our local area. We found a Pardoes glass once, and another time we found a small Laaf clock.  This was years and years ago though.

Then, within the last 10 days, we’ve gotten our hands on all of these things pictured below…

Good things come in 3s right?!  Pardoes and the small Laaf are from charity shops, and the 3 bigger Laafs came from Facebook Marketplace about 3 minutes from my house. Score!

I’m interested to hear if anyone else has found any Efteling stuff on their travels around second-hand shops/markets etc.

Many years ago, the Fata Morgana store was home to a lot more souvenirs that were tied into the ride, and into the park itself.  In a time when the park’s mascot, Pardoes, was also more heavily featured in the park, Fata Morgana was the place to find Pardoes dressed in his best Arabian-themed outfit.

He was also seated on a yellow flying carpet, but it flew away for the photo.

We Found Something Old and…Eftelingy…

This is slightly disgusting.  We found an old Efteling item in our possession.  What makes it a bit disgusting?  It is food-related!

This lollipop has been lurking in our home since around 1997, so about 16 years now!  On it is Pardijn, Pardoes’ lady friend.  We don’t see so much of her in the park any more, but back in the 90s, Pardoes mania was going strong!

Obviously it has suffered a little bit, as there is a crack in it, but in general, it doesn’t look too bad!  Must be full of lovely preservatives 😉

Polle’s Kitchen Opens!

Have you ever wandered around Efteling and thought to yourself; ‘I would love to eat some pancakes!’?  Well, now you can!  Polle’s Keuken (Polle’s Kitchen) is now open!

From February 1st (although the official opening isn’t until March 30th) you can visit the pancake kitchen every day from 11:30.  With no less than 10 savoury and 10 sweet pancakes to choose from, plus some yummy desserts, you can’t go wrong!
